PopOut, the duo electronic pop-rock band which also called an alternative dance or indie dance is melding influences Depeche Mode, Stereo MCs, Dan Reed Network, U2, EMF and Chemical Brothers, with a keen sense carrying a song trough the rhythm.

 

The unique about these two PopOut personnel – both are best known as drummers. PopOut was formed in Jakarta by two old friends an alumnus of Jalan Potlot community, Massto Sidharta (singer – songwriter/song composer) and late Ario Bayu (guitar – song composer) in 2012. In PopOut, the two step out from behind the kid to take on new instruments and experiment with a variety of audio software to create their unique sound.

The Album

 

Before their debut album, PopOut attracted a loyal following with a remake song of Kidnap Katrina ‘Biru’, which featured on the soundtrack for film ‘Mika’ (2012).

 

PopOut first album produced by Andre Decarpentry (PARIS JAKARTA EXPRESS project) under French label “Ateliers 79” and released in Indonesia through Up-Beat Publishing (Piyu) as local partner of Ateliers 79 in Indonesia, songs mixing by Nicolas Rastoul and mastering by the best sound engineer in Indonesia, Indra Qadarsih (BIP).

 

The first single ‘Tanpamu Aku Halu’ (Without You I’m Hallucinating) - a song that celebrates the club hoppers extravagancies, was released on 13 February 2015 in 70 radio station in Indonesia.

 

The debut album includes twelve songs – featuring a number of renowned musicians, old friends from Jalan Potlot community such as Anda Perdana (Matajiwa), Indra Q (BIP), Ezra Simanjuntak & Celine (ZiFactor), Njet & Boris (The Flowers), Damon Koeswoyo & Kcho (Kidnap Katrina), ShaheilaO, Baina Ivo, and Sule Wijaya.
